CPP's Project CAMINOS: Bridging gaps and building futures

Christie Counts, assistant communication specialist in Cal Pomona’s Office of Student Success, writes about the college access and success opportunities provided by Project CAMINOS. Funded by a Title V HSI grant, the program supports first-generation and underserved students through programs like Bronco Scholars by providing academic preparation, mentorship and outreach to improve college access, retention and graduation rates.

The article quotes first-year chemical engineering student Ashley Coronel; Cecilia Santiago-González, the division’s associate vice president, co-private investigator of the grant alongside Provost Terri Gomez; and Project CAMINOS project coordinators Xiomara Melendez, Judi Quintero and Cynthia Avina-Tejeda.
