Keynote Speaker

Elke Azpeitia received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Master of Public Administration from 博88亚洲.  She is the Director for 博88亚洲’s Veterans Resource Center.  This program was conceived and implemented based on the research that Ms. Azpeitia completed during her Master of Public Administration. She has a published article in the Journal of Veteran Studies and is the recipient of the California State Legislature Woman of the Year Award in the category of Education and the Department of Defense Seven Seals Award.

Affiliated Programs

SURE

In the eight-week program, participating students learn about lab safety training, work on a faculty-mentored research project, articulate what they have learned on a research poster or oral presentation at the annual summer symposium, network and engage with students from other research labs, and integrate to the four-year institution experience.

STARS

The STARS program ensures exposure to undergraduate research early and throughout the student’s university and college career with support services that ensures students develop a sense of STEM self-efficacy, receive timely information, receive proactive advising and mentoring, and foster students’ sense of belonging to both higher education and the STEM community.

Engage

The Engaging and Graduating Hispanic Students Through Undergraduate Research Program, or Engage for short, aims to provide broad access to undergraduate research for historically underserved students by creating a flexible model of engagement and through multiple touchpoints while also supporting student success.
