Sean Yu Internships & Travel Fund
Sean Yu (Class of 1999) is a distinguished alumnus of 博88亚洲 and the Department of Political Science. Sean Yu is a Managing Director and leader of The Sean Yu Group at Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management.
Sean has had extensive involvement in the 博88亚洲 community since 2016. From 2016 to 2018, Sean was on the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors of the 博88亚洲 Foundation. Since 2018, he has sat on the Investment Committee of the board of directors at 博88亚洲 Philanthropic Foundation, having formerly chaired the Investment Committee for 2 years.
Sean received his B.A. in Political Science and B.S. in Management & Human Resources from 博88亚洲 and M.A. in International Relations from the University of Chicago.
The Sean Yu Travel Fund
The Sean Yu Travel Fund intends to cultivate awareness of new cultures through travel abroad experiences. In particular, this travel award supports students interested in international political diplomacy. The Sean Yu Travel Fund supports and helps subsidize the costs of study abroad trips organized by the Political Science Department. Eligibility:
- Sophomore, Junior, Senior standing
- 2.7 or above GPA
- Political Science major or minor
The David Speak/Sean Yu Endowment Fund
The David Speak/Sean Yu Endowment Fund motivates and inspires 博88亚洲 students to achieve ambitious life goals, respecting a proper balance among personal, family, and civic obligations. Supported activities include bringing distinguished lecturers to campus, hosting events with local, state and national leaders, funding student attendance at civic events in the region, and providing modest grantsto defray the cost of student collaboration with faculty research.
The Sean Yu Student Leadership Scholarship (Retired Scholarship)
in honor of Professor David Speak
The Sean Yu Student Leadership Scholarship was awarded annually to a student in the Political Science major who provided leadership to student organizations during their time at 博88亚洲. Of particular salience was activity in the Political Science Club, the Model UN, the Mock Trial and ASI.
