Service Opportunities

The Academic Senate is recruiting three (3) faculty members for the Search Committee for the Associate Dean in the College of Education and Integrative Studies.  Per Policy 1310 (PDF), all faculty members shall be full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty.  Faculty participants in the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP) shall not be eligible for service.

The committee will begin its work in fall 2025.

Full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty Interested in serving should submit their name and a brief statement (minimum of 200 words and a maximum of 500 words) detailing: 

  1. Your interest in serving on this committee
  2. Your qualifications and experiences that can best serve the work of the committee
  3. Your rank (no CVs please)

The Academic Senate Elections and Procedures Committee is seeking nominations for two (2) representatives for the College of Education and Integrative Studies RTP Committee for terms ending in 2026 and 2028.  Faculty members who serve on CRTPCs must be full-time tenured and at full professor rank.  All departments except Education are eligible for service.

Policy 1328 (PDF), Section 4.0 governs the College RTP Committee election and includes the following: 

  • The college RTP committee (CRTPC) shall consist of three members with no more than one per department until all departments are represented and with a maximum of two per department. 
  • Faculty members who serve on the CRTPC must be full-time tenured and at full professor rank
  • Faculty members who served or are serving on the department RTP committee (DRTPC) or university RTP committee (URTPC) in the current RTP cycle are not eligible for nomination. 
  • Candidates being considered for promotion are ineligible for service. 

Individuals willing to serve must send an email expressing their interest to the Academic Senate, senate@cpp.edu, by Friday, April 25, 2025

The Academic Senate Elections and Procedures Committee is seeking nominations for one (1) representative for the College of Engineering RTP Committee for a term ending in 2028.  Faculty members who serve on CRTPCs must be full-time tenured and at full professor rank.  The following departments are eligible for service:  Chemical and Materials Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

The Academic Senate is currently seeking nominations for faculty representatives from the following constituencies for the Council for Graduate and Faculty Scholarship (CGFS) for terms ending in 2026 or 2027:

  • College of Business Administration (term ends 2027)
  • College of Education and Integrative Studies (term ends 2027)
  • College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences ((term ends 2027)
  • College of Engineering (term ends 2027)   
  • University Library (term ends 2026) 

Tenured and tenure-track faculty are eligible to serve.  Self-nomination is permitted.   

CGFS Responsibilities ()

  • To implement the campus plan for the Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity Program, including inviting and reviewing faculty proposals for grants, recommending awards, and coordinating an evaluation of the effectiveness of the program. 
  • To award seed grants to support preliminary activities, funded through the Research Office, for the purpose of increasing the recipients' ability to compete successfully for extramural funding. 
  • To liaise with the proposed Undergraduate Research Faculty Advisory Council 
  • To promote the development of research, scholarship, and creative activities in the members' constituencies, by having the individual Council members act as liaison with other faculty members in their constituencies. 
  • To ensure co-ordination between the Council and URFAC, the Council should contain at least one member from URFAC in an ex-officio capacity.   The Council should be represented in the same way on URFAC. 
  • The Council will select one of its regularly elected members to represent them on URFAC.
