Summer Program Options
1-Week Summer Transition Program (June 23-28)
Before the start of your math course, you鈥檒l live in the Residence Halls, meet your classmates, learn essential college success skills, get paired with a student mentor, and connect with a personal success coach. You鈥檒l also spend time working on your foundational math skills to prepare you for college-level math, whether you start in the summer or the fall. This 1-week program is free. Meals and housing are included.
6-Week Math Course: June 30-August 8
If you鈥檙e feeling anxious or scared about taking college-level math, this class is for you! This 6-week course is free for eligible students (see below for details), and it鈥檚 perfect for local students who are commuting to campus. You鈥檒l have access to tutoring and academic support that鈥檒l support you the entire time. Students will enroll in MAT 1051 (College Algebra Stretch I) or STA 1201 (Statistics with Applications Stretch I) and their accompanying activity course depending on major requirements.

Participating in Bronco Scholars is not required. However, we strongly encourage you to consider attending to set yourself up for success your first year.
You can choose if you want to participate in both or one component.
For the 1-week overnight campus experience, there is no coming and going: you will be on campus Monday-Saturday. Do not schedule vacations, appointments, and employment during this timeframe.
For the 6-week course, you are expected to attend and be timely to all classes and activities. Do not schedule vacations, appointments, and employment during this timeframe.
You should plan to be on campus from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each class day. Your math class will begin at 10 a.m. and meets Monday through Thursday.
Each dorm is already furnished with:
- Extra long twin bed
- Desk & chair
- Dresser
- Closet
- Wastebasket
- TV connection
- High speed ethernet connection
Please make sure to bring the following items with you:
- Toiletries: shampoo/conditioner, body wash, dental hygiene, etc
- Linens/Towels: blanket, X-Long Twin sheets, bath towel etc.
- School supplies: notebook, pens, pencils, etc.
- Personal laptop, headphones
- Recommended: a small amount of cash for vending machines snacks or laundry
You should bring:
- Notebooks, pens, pencils and other academic supplies you may need
- Your Math textbook
- Personal items (water bottle, medication, etc.)
- Food for lunch or money to purchase food on campus
- Personal laptop
You have several options:
- If you drive yourself to campus, you can purchase a summer semester parking permit ($231) and park in a student lot.
- You can be dropped off at the dropoff circle near the CLA Building.
- You can get a Foothill Transit ClassPass for free after you enroll in your math course. The Class Pass is accepted on all Foothill Transit Local and Silver Streak buses.
- You can get a discount Metro bus pass.
