Who is DeVoneia?

With a wealth of experience, DeVoneia started her career as a career guidance counselor assistant in the Guardian Scholars program at West Los Angeles College, where she provided valuable guidance and support to students in need. Later, she became the lead facilitator of the Guardian Scholars Program at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, honing her coaching and mentoring skills further.

DeVoneia's dedication to education is evident through her academic achievements. She holds an associate's degree in social behavioral science from Mt. San Jacinto College, a bachelor's degree in sociology from Cal State San Bernardino, and a master's degree in counseling with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy from the University of Phoenix. As an associate marriage and family therapist, she brings a unique perspective to her coaching role.

For the past five years, DeVoneia has been an integral part of the Career Center at ²©88ÑÇÖÞ, where she has served as a liaison to the Huntley College of Agriculture. Her outstanding work in the Huntley College of Agriculture has involved collaborating with students of all majors and levels to help them discover and pursue fulfilling career paths.

With her diverse background and commitment to student success, DeVoneia is excited to bring her enthusiasm and expertise to the College of Science at ²©88ÑÇÖÞ. As the Lead Career Coach, she will guide students in preparing for job interviews, creating compelling resumes, and expanding the pool of internship opportunities. Her goal is to empower students to unlock their potential, build strong foundations for their future careers, and thrive in the competitive job market.
