General Information

The application for RISE is open now! Apply to the program via .

Applications are open through May 15, 2025.

No, RISE is free for all participants. The program covers housing, meals, workshops and excursions. Students may bring spending money to purchase CPP gear at the bookstore or additional snacks available at markets across campus.

Once applications are reviewed, accepted students will receive an official email notification with next seps, including required forms and program logistics.

Parents, family members and supporters are welcome to help students settle into their room in the residence halls and attend designated family events on the first-day of the program. However, RISE is a student-focused experience and family members will not be allowed to stay for the program’s duration.

Program Logistics


Students should bring:

  • Clothing appropriate for the weather (it is very hot in Pomona during the summer)
  • Toiletries
  • Tennis shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • Personal medications

Students should wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. A RISE T-shirt will be provided and should be worn for specific activities.

Meals will be provided at Centerpointe Dining Commons, 博88亚洲’s dining hall. Some meals may also be catered for special events.

Students will stay in on-campus housing in shared rooms based on gender identity. Each room will have a bed and desk for each participant. In addition, all participants will be provided with the following items within the residential halls:

  • Fitted Sheet
  • 1 Pillowcase
  • 1 Bath Towel
  • 1 Hand Towel
  • 1 Pillow
  • 1 Blanket

Yes, students will be assigned a roommate of the same gender identity. Rooms will be assigned to students upon checking-in for the program.

Upon being accepted into the program, students will be asked to fill out a registration form. Please indicate any dietary restrictions on the form. We work closely with dining services to provide meal options for all students.

Yes, laundry facilities are available in the residence halls. However, since the program is only a few days, most students will not need to do laundry.

Safety & Supervision


RISE has strict supervision policies, including designated staff, resident assistants and security measures to ensure students’ well-being at all times.

No. For safety reasons, students must remain on campus except for official off-campus excursions.

Yes, program staff and residential assistants will be on-site at all times to support students.

Emergency contact information will be provided before the program begins.

Program Experience


RISE students engage in interactive workshops, campus tours, team-building activities, leadership development and social experiences with other students.

RISE workshops introduce students to campus resources, student organizations, and academic and career topics to help them prepare for college success.

Yes, the schedule includes structured activities as well as downtime for socializing and relaxing in designated campus areas.

Money is not required, but students may bring personal funds for optional purchases both on-campus as well as during off-campus excursions.

No, students are expected to stay for the entire program duration. If an emergency arises, parents/guardians/supporters must contact RISE staff.

While RISE does not guarantee admission, participation can strengthen students’ college applications and prepare them for success in the college admissions process.
