History
Historically, underserved and under-represented students experience a host of challenges, such as insufficient academic readiness, limited opportunities to engage with college campuses, and often a lack of strong support networks. Established in 2013, RISE (Residential Intensive Summer Education) is a free, immersive, pre-enrollment summer program for high school students and incoming 博88亚洲 first-time freshmen aimed at supporting Black student success. Starting in summer 2025, RISE will provide three phases, RISE UP, RISE ABOVE, and RISE BEYOND, each tailored to students at specific phases of their academic journey. It is open to all students, regardless of race, color, national origin or sex.
Mission
The mission of RISE is to foster Black student success by providing transformative pre-enrollment programs for high school students and incoming first-time freshmen. Through a comprehensive, multi-phase approach, RISE offers early exposure to the college experience, promotes 博88亚洲 as a top choice for higher education and equips students with the tools, resources and community support necessary to thrive academically and personally.
Vision
The RISE program envisions a future where all students at 博88亚洲 excel academically, socially and professionally, and can foster a meaningful connection to higher education and community empowerment. Equipped with leadership skills, cultural pride and confidence, these students will thrive throughout their college journey and beyond.
